There once was a man from Nantuckett.......

Actually he is from out west and he and I have been blogger friends for a couple of years now and without knowing it he has made an impact on my life. For some reason everytime I catch up on what is going on in his life I get a feeling that there is some wisdom that he shares that was meant for me. Now I know that it's not planned by him but I do know that I am happy to call him a friend eventhough we've never officially met.

I'd imagine an afternoon with him to be very interesting and have lots of stories to tell me....most of them would start off "when I was your age..." I am not knocking his age but merely recognizing that his experiences of his youth could help me along in my daily exploits. I think that IF we were neighbors that I could call on him anytime and just have a chat and maybe go out for a couple of pints and talk about current events, baseball and perhaps love.

Anyway, now you know my thoughts on him AND he knows why I did what I did.
As I get home from tending bar this evening I sit here in my home with a beer in hand and toast you on your breithlá!
To Rick:
I make a toast to your coffin.
May it be made of 100 year old oak.
And may we plant the tree together, tomorrow.
Cheers Rick!
